Learn all about insects with the Museum's very own Entomologist, Dr Shasta Henry.
In this 90-minute workshop, kids will discover the basics of insect anatomy and learn some beginner friendly backyard ‘taxonomy’ – the way scientists classify and group different types of insects.
Using the craft materials provided, participants will then put their new knowledge into action by designing and building their own anatomically correct insect friend to take home.
To finish, Dr Shasta will lead the group on an insect hunt through the South Australian Biodiversity Gallery on Level 2, where young entomologists can put their new identification skills to the test.
Booking is essential.
This workshop is part of our April School Holidays program. It is suitable for children aged 6-10 years. Please note that child participation in the workshop will only be permitted with attendance of a supervising adult for the entire duration of the workshop, but that adults do not need to purchase a ticket.
