‍Checkmate by Amigo & Amigo turns chess into a bold, playful public spectacle on the South Australian Museum lawns during Illuminate Adelaide's City Lights program.

Monumental Bauhaus-inspired pieces invite all ages and cultures to play, think, and connect. Each piece follows its own rules, sparking curiosity, strategy, and imagination as you step into a larger-than-life game that celebrates art, design, and competition.

Checkmate will run nightly from 5.30pm, Friday 3 to Sunday 19 July.
